Dushanbe International Airport: Passenger Traffic Increased

In 2024, OJSC "Dushanbe International Airport" served 2,338,000 passengers, including 1,161,000 arriving passengers and 1,177,442 departing passengers. This was highlighted during a press conference held by the Civil Aviation Agency.

The number of passengers in 2024 increased by 109,084 people compared to 2023, reflecting a 5% growth.

"The total volume of cargo and mail handled and transported through the airport’s cargo terminal in 2024 amounted to 2,614.4 tons. Of this, 346.8 tons were inbound cargo, while 2,267.6 tons were outbound. Compared to 2023, the cargo volume decreased by 464.5 tons, or 15%," the source added.

Additionally, 2,015 flight delays were recorded at the airport, which is 800 more delays (66% increase) compared to the previous year. The main causes of delays included late arrivals from departure points, unfavorable weather conditions, and other factors.

Dushanbe International Airport currently serves 13 airlines, including:

  • 6 international carriers: Fly Dubai (UAE), Turkish Airlines (Turkey), China Airlines (China), Varish Airlines (Iran), Jazeera Airways (Kuwait), and AZAL (Azerbaijan).
  • 7 airlines from CIS countries: UTair, Ural Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, S7 Airlines (Russia), Air Astana (Kazakhstan), Uzbekistan Airways, and Somon Air (Tajikistan).

In 2024, a total of 8,468 flights were operated, including 7,985 regular flights and 483 charter flights, which is 319 flights (4%) more than in 2023.

Furthermore, 184 cases of baggage damage and loss were recorded in 2024, showing a decrease of 5 cases (2.6%) compared to the previous year.
